This bow is an incredibly fast and hard hitting work of art. Made from raw hide backed osage orange, the finished product pulls 50# @ 22″ of draw length–making it perfect for hunting any sized game and a day on the archery range. The only asymmetrical bow I have seen made by Native American people come from the Hidatsa Tribe. The original bow was a self-bow—meaning it was not backed with raw hide or sinew. I decided to back this piece of osage orange with raw hide for added security to the back. A single growth ring was followed from tip to tip and the bow was carefully tillered in collaboration with renowned bow making expert Mark Swanson. You can see the limbs are well balanced and ready for use. The handle is made from leather and the the string from fast flight. Video included in this listing to show bow speed.
