Back in late 2018 I published a blog article introducing readers to Hohokam ceramics. Hohokam pottery vessels are some of the most amazing works of art across the American Southwest. Known for their complex design elements, vivid colors, and unique iconography Hohokam ceramic analysis has answered questions that have been debated for many years. For this article I consulted with one of Arizona’s leading authorities in Hohokam ceramics. Thanks to Marc Serverson’s generosity and hard work, he agreed to write and have Primitive Lifeways publish a report on ceramic designs, characteristics, and time sequences.
